Images: A Proper Resolution

Different devices have different resolutions. The term resolution refers to the number of storage locations per inch (called dots per inch, or dpi).

Although the image at left seems to have good detail, click your mouse pointer on the red square to zoom in. What happens? You see a very blocky representation of Benjamin Franklin's head!

Now, step back about 12 feet from you monitor. Does some of the detail seem to come back?
