A Web Browser Interprets HTML

To get a sense of the process, click and drag the HTML File onto the blank Internet Explorer browser window.

 

 

 

 

 

 

What was the process? Remember, the input to the browser is HTML...the output is what you see in your browser window, which is likely a compilation of an HTML file and quite a number of graphics and other files referenced in the HTML document.

Once the browser receives the HTML file, the browser interprets the HTML content, displays the text, and returns to the Internet to retrieve other necessary files like graphics and images. In fact, the example PUBSNET home page that displayed took over 25 files to construct (mostly graphics).
