PhoneRider ISA Specifications PhoneRider ISA is an intelligent TAPI and Wave compliant single-line telephony boards. Used in conjunction with MediaPhonics; TAPI Service Provider (TSP) and companion Wave driver, PhoneRider provides a truly integrated foundation for powerful desktop voice and call processing applications. MediaPhonics core architecture enables OEMs, VARs, and Systems Integrators to quickly develop and deploy solutions that require the tight integration of desktop telephony with Microsoft applications. MediaPhonics Communications Operating System Multimedia Operating System (COSMOS) technology, provides a straightforward bridge that seamlessly integrates Microsoft APIs (Telephone, Wave and Com) and PhoneRider hardware functions. COSMOS is composed of PhoneRider Firmware and PhoneRider Drivers. The firmware runs on PhoneRiders DSP freeing the host for other tasks. It is composed of call progress analysis, signal processing and echo cancellations algorithms. Call Progress Analysis As the call progresses, the following events are detected: Handset on/off hook DTMF Dialtone Ringback Connected Caller ID Silence Voice Busy Etc. Echo Cancellation PhoneRider is equipped with three independent device-specific echo cancellation algorithms: Telephone line Handset Speaker phone PhoneRider Drivers PhoneRider is shipped with MediaPhonics Telephony Service Provider driver and MediaPhonics Wave driver. These two drivers enable access to PhoneRider board functions through three standard Microsoft application programming interfaces: Telephone API (TAPI) Wave API COM API The compatibility of MediaPhonics drivers with these APIs ensures that all applications using these APIs will be immediately operational with the PhoneRider board. PhoneRider expands the possibilities for: · Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to enhance their existing architectures with intelligent client applications. · TAPI developers to leverage Microsofts TAPI, MAPI, and SAPI allowing them to quickly create intelligent desktop telephony clients. · Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Systems Integrators to build applications that seamlessly bridge IP, wireless and PSTN calls for advanced voice and call processing requirements. Features · Support for all TAPI 3.0 functions including IP telephony · Plug and Play compatibility · Real time media processing and advanced call processing · Simultaneous full-duplex streaming on phone device and line device · Local phone support with on/off hook detection and separate streaming · Full-duplex high quality speakerphone with adaptive echo cancellation · Soft switching between handset and speakerphone during call · Optimized for Plantronics H61 N/A headset · US, Canadian, German and Swiss PT approvals Applications · Messaging (voice record and playback, e-mail integration, fax integration) · Attended desktop telephony · Audio conferencing (PSTN and IP) · Call logging/IP monitoring · IP based distributed and clustered call centers PhoneRider is particularly well suited for Internet telephony in web-enabled, distributed, small, and remote call centers, and large call centers requiring logging, where the use of full duplex 16-bit, 8KHz, digital audio for all telephone signals ensures high voice quality.
